Paul E. Marsters,AS
Holds an Associate's Degree in Survival and Rescue Operations from the Community College of the Air Force. An experienced Air Force Aircrew life support Survival Instructor, Instructor Graduate of Combat Evasion Exercise Ridge Runner. ACUC/public safety certified Rapid Deployment Search and Rescue/ Recovery Diver, Dive Rescue Intl. Ice Dive Operations certified. Certified Dive Master #188907 and with 10 recreational specialty dive certifications. Certified Police Cyclist I.P.M.B.A. with over 500 hours of patrol experience. Structural and Maritime firefighting and rescue experience. Graduate of the USAF National Search and Rescue School and N.A.S.A.R.'s Managing the Lost Person Incident. N.Y.S. Command Post Operations and Public Safety Incident Management, FEMA ICS-100 and Principles of Emergency Management. Training Officer- USAF Search and Recovery Team, Westover ARB, MA. Field officer / Team Leader in New York State Federation of SAR. Former rescue training officer, Marine FD Port of Rochester NY. Former training officer Massasauga SAR team Rochester, NY. S.A.R. training coordinator Berkshire Mountain SAR team, MA. Northeast Wilderness S.A.R.- S.A.R. Responder II Instructor/Evaluator. Massachusetts Wing Civil Air Patrol Ground Team Training officer. Commander-Senior tactical response team, Western Tactical Operational Area MA. Senior Survival and Land Navigation Instructor at the National Emergency Services Academy (NESA-CAP) Ground Search and Rescue School. Founder- National Survival & Land Navigation Academy. Co-Founder New England Academy of SAR. Certified CMC Rope Rescue Technician I / II. Previous NREMT - with past EMT or paramedic certifications from 3 states, NY, TX, OK. Disaster Response Experience - Ramstein Airshow Disaster 1988. Tornado Incident Response, OK 89-90 - Ham operator KB1HRR.

Hobbies Include - Scuba diving, hiking, skiing - Alpine/Nordic, Kayaking, Teaching, Mountaineering, cycling - mountain/road or anything that gets me into natures classroom.

John Griffiths
Massagauga Search & Rescue Team - President, Training Officer, Technical Rescue Officer, Communications Officer, Swift Water Rescue Technician I, NYSDEC Crew Boss, NYS Federation Safety Officer.

Other training and experience: FEMA Institute - Emergency Management, and FEMA CERT Train the Trainer qualified. American Red Cross - Disaster Brigade team member. Occupational Health & Safety, BLS crew member- Gates Volunteer Ambulance, First aid for law enforcement K9, Mercy Flight Helicopter ground crew, (Staten Island Recovery Operation (post 9-11)), National Fire Academy - Emergency Response to Terrorism, Public Safety Incident Management, Basic Structural rope Rescue, Critical Incident Stress Management. Wilderness First responder.

Major Incident Response Experience Includes: Red Cross - have responded to numerous local fires and one plane crash, providing mass care, damage assessment and taking care of client's immediate needs.

Hobbies Included: Kayak touring, solo & tandem canoeing, backpacking, snow shoeing, bicycling, winter mountaineering (climbed 14 of New York's highest peaks in winter) and organic gardening. Excitedly planning further training this year - NASAR SARTEC II, Man tracking and possibly another K9 first aid and medical aspects of rope rescue.

Thom Janisko
Thomas J. Janisko, Senior Medical Instructor/Consultant - Received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his Master's degree in Medical Science from the University of New England. He is a Board Certified Critical Care / Emergency Physician Assistant, a Massachusetts Certified EMT-Intermediate, Tactical SWAT EMT, and Wilderness EMT-Paramedic. In addition to his medical certifications, he is certified in Fire Officer I, High Angle Rescue, and Confined Space Rescue, with previous experience as a Fire Captain Officer / Officer In-Charge with Engine Company 3, the Amherst Fire Department, Amherst Massachusetts. He is an Instructor of ACLS, PALS, CPR, First Responder, Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Advanced First Aid, EMS continuing education, and has authored several texts focusing on emergency medicine and rescue. He is also an instructor with the Institute for Emergency Medical Education in Cape Cod Massachusetts.

Civil Air Patrol: Massachusetts Wing Ground Search and Rescue School Senior Medical Instructor/Medical Operations Chief. Senior Ground Team Leader with over fifty sorties.

Disaster Response Experience - World Trade Center / Ground Zero NYC, Medical and Rescue Efforts, September 11th - September 13th, 2001.

Activities Include - Rock Climbing, Mountain biking, Snow Shoeing, Kayaking, Diving, and Summer / Winter Mountaineering.

1998 Certificate of Appreciation for Life Saving, Civil Air Patrol.
